New Makeup Purchases featuring NYX & Zoeva ♡

Hello & Welcome back to my blog.
I haven't made a blog post in a very long time but going to try and get back into so I thought I would start off with some new makeup purchases from NYX & Zoeva, give you my opinion and view on them and also some swatches as well. Hope you enjoy x

NYX Cosmetics Contour & Highlight Palette £18.00 from Boots/NYX/Feel Unique

The NYX contour & highlight palette comes with 8 shades. On the first row you have 1 highlighting shade,1 very light shade, 1 banana/yellow shade and 1 light/medium shade. On the second row you have a medium brown shade, golden bronze shade, medium to dark shade and a dark shade. For my skin tone I have used a small amount of the banana shade under my eyes and after I have cream contoured with my Mehron Contour & Highlight palette, i mix together the 2 first shades in the 2nd row, to contour with. I find these are the perfect mix for my skin tone but with fake tan on, i would use a slight bit of the 3rd shade. They are very highly pigmented and blend like a dream. I love the diverse shades and how the price is very reasonable. I highly recommend if you are looking for a contour palette and don't want to splash the cash but still want to get a good product from it. Only thing I would say is I don't use every shade on the palette but I think that's the beauty of the palette because anyone can use it!

NYX Sculpt & Highlight Face Duo - Shade Caramel/Vanilla £9.00 Boots/NYX/Asos

The NYX Sculpt & Highlight Face Duo is a double ended liquid/cream contour and highlight product with a doe foot applicator which makes it very easy to apply. I had seen Malin from Love Island using this in one of her makeup tutorials and saying how much she loved it and i loved how it looked on her so i purchased it, however I looked at swatches and chanced it with the shade and I would have chosen a lighter shade but the dark shade works for me to contour with but the lighter shade isn't light enough for highlighting my skin. However with fake tan on, they both work. The coverage is medium and i love how compact the product is. Although I don't think i would purchase again because it's quite hard to blend out the contour shade. I use a beauty blender which blends like a dream but it takes ages for this product to blend into my skin whereas my Mehron cream palette blends instantly so i've been going for that more than this, also you don't get a lot of product in it but the price is really good for what it is. I'm glad i've tried it and I will use it but won't purchase again.

NYX Liquid Suede in shade "Soft Spoken" £6.50 on Boots and NYX

I was having a browse online and had heard such good things about NYX lip products, especially the liquid ones so I had a look at some swatches online and decided to order the Liquid Suede in the shade Soft Spoken. It applies so smoothly and evenly, i apply Rimmel Lipliner in cappuccino before hand and then apply this over the top and it looks amazing. I always get asked what i'm wearing on my lips! I normally go for a gloss finish but i'm loving the matte finish at the moment. I have heard a lot of people saying how drying these kind of products are but i've been using it for a couple of weeks now and it hasn't dried my lips out at all but i do also apply the malibu lip balm every day which may also help! I really highly reccomend these liquid lipsticks, i think this one is brilliant & so good for the money. The only downside to these is the colour range, it isn't great i wish there was more nudes, pinks and burgundy colours but i want to try the Nyx Lingerie's as the colour range is better.

NYX Matte Finish Long Lasting Setting Spray - £7.00 Boots/NYX

So i was on the hunt for a matte setting spray as I have oily skin and when i'm at work running around (waitress) my face sweats a lot and i wanted to find something that was going to prevent this. Now we're getting into Winter i obviously won't be sweating as much as work but during the summer i was and i've only just bought this NYX setting spray and im loving it so far. I was walking around the NYX counter in Selfridges and saw it so thought i would give it a try for only £7.00 as i didn't want to splurge on the Urban Decay one until i had given this a try. I've been using it at work and found my face hasn't gone as oily as normal, my makeup has lasted a little bit more (although it normally lasts quite long anyway) and my face hasn't been sweating as much (i'm not sure if this is because its got colder or whether its the spray!) I'm really happy with this product and am going to continue using it and will hopefully re purchase! I highly reccomend if you have oily skin like me and become very shiny throughout the day where you don't have the opportunity to keep powdering up or you just simply can't be bothered to keep powdering (i don't blame you).

Zoeva Rose Golden Palette - £18.00 on Beauty Bay/Selfridges/Zoeva

I bought this palette from Beauty Bay after hearing so many good reviews about it. I wanted to get a new eyeshadow palette and wanted to try out the Zoeva makeup range & had researched and had a look online and fell in love with this palette. A couple of my friends had also bought the Zoeva palettes and said how amazing the pigment was so i was expecting high things. I was not disapointed at all, the pigment is incredible and for £18.00 it is such amazing value. I pay £38.00 for a naked palette and £18.00 for this, however the pigmentation in this is a lot better in my opinion so i would reach for this over my urban decay palettes, which says a lot. It has 3 mattes in it; 1 brown, 1 grey and 1 black. It has 7 shimmer colours which are so beautiful. There's a couple of bronze colours, gold colours, coppers and dark brown shimmer as well. I am absoloutely loving this palette at the moment i would highly reccomend it. I want to try the cocoa blend one next! Also the packaging is beautiful :)

So that's it for my product reviews on my new makeup purchases, hopefully i persuaded you to check out these products and if so let me know how you find them in the comments below....

Love, Alice x

Hello & Welcome back to my blog.
Last sunday i spent the day in London, i had tickets to BBC Radio 1's Teen Awards at Wembley Arena which is an annual event for 14-17 year olds. However beforehand i went to 5 Seconds Of Summer' hotel to meet them (casj lol) and also did some makeup shopping in covent garden.

So first of all i went to attempt to meet 5 Seconds of Summer at their hotel in London, we got there and there was around 40 fans but 3 entrances to the hotel and all 40 fans were stood at one entrance so we stayed there for about 15 minutes. Their tour/security guys were putting their band equipment all into the back of their van, but the guys were getting into another van to go to the Teen Awards, their van had pulled off and driven round the corner at the end of the road and gone so our only thought was to find where the car had gone as this was our only way of seeing them. We still stood around for a while to see what was going on and we got chatting to the guy who was cleaning the hotel windows and he wanted to know what they looked like etc, he then said you do know there is another entrance and we did know but just didn't think of it being a possibility, one of us went round the corner to find the car and then a minute after that we were like stuff it lets all go and try and find the van. We found it and it kept an eye on it, it then tried to drive down the one way street which leaded the other entrance of the hotel and realised and did a u-turn & reversed pretty quickly down it so we kept our speed up and walked pretty fast to the other entrance, literally as we got to it the guys walked out. We met them, had hugs, a chat and got pictures which i will insert below. Michael got straight in the car literally just as we was getting there so we missed him but caught the other guys, it all happened to quickly but i was legit so fucking happy it was unreal. They were so lovely and looked incredible as always....

After fangirling for what was a good 30 minutes, we headed to Covent Garden to visit Mac and Kiko Cosmetics. I picked up a few bits and will insert photos of them below. I picked up Kiko Everlasting Kohl Pencil which is so amazing, it lasts for so long and is SO black, Kiko Lipstick in 913, Mac Fix+ and Mac Lipstick in Modesty (fave mac lipstick ever).

We then headed to Wembley Arena for the Teen Awards. The whole concert consisted of performances from 5 Seconds Of Summer, All Time Low, Nick Jonas, Little Mix, Justin Bieber, and Demi Lovato. There was also appearances from The Vamps, Troye Sivan, Chris Martin, Keith Lemon, Jim Chapman, Rita Ora, Demi Lovato, Nick Grimshaw,Olly Murs, Greg James and You Me At Six. There are Teen Hero awards where 3 teens are awarded for amazing things they have done and there are music/tv awards such as Best Band and Best TV Show.

The show started with a v v v special guest: Justin Bieber. It started with a spotlight of him and everyone went mental as he was un-announced. He was incredible, he sung What Do You Mean, Boyfriend and Where Are U Now. It was the first time i had seen him live as well and he did not disappoint.

All Time Low were then on next and they were SO good, after 5SOS these were the act i was most excited for. I was kind of dissapointed they only sung 2 songs and no old ones but they were still incredible. They sung Somethings Gotta Give & Kids In The Dark which are from their new album Future Hearts (which is amazing).

Then followed by Nick Jonas who was so good, he wasn't someone i was very excited about in paticular but i really enjoyed his set, he's released such good songs as a solo artist. He sung Jealous, Levels and Chains.

It was then time for Little Mix, who looked insane and sounded amazing too. It was about my 4/5th time seeing the girls but hadn't seen them in a while so it was good to hear some new stuff live. They sung Black Magic, Move and Love Me Like You.

Then it was time for my faves; 5 Seconds Of Summer. They had the headlining slot and i hadn't seen them live since June so i was legit so buzzing for it as i knew they would be singing new stuff. They were meant to attend last year but unfortunately Ashton got ill and they had to cancel so this year they headlined! They did Jet Black Heart, She's Kinda Hot and She Looks So Perfect. They were unbelievable as per usual and they were definitely the act who got the most screams! Bring on tour next year...

After 5 Seconds of Summer, the show then wrapped up with Grimmy and Rita closing the show. I really hope you enjoyed reading this weeks blog post and i will see you next week with another ♥
